Facebook has introduced yet another creepy new feature. It's called "see friendship" and it allows users to look back of the entire Facebook history between them and their "friends". It replaced the "wall to wall" feature and can be found on wall posts in line with the "comment" and "like" options.
Personally, I see no need to look back over the history of a relationship via Facebook, but I took a look at a couple of "see friendships" just to see what all the buzz was about. I guess the idea of an online scrapbook is unique, but it's just weird.
If I really want to reminice about old times, I would much rather spend time with a friend in person rather than reading every single comment I have ever made on their wall. Also, if you are really friends with someone, wouldn't you be able to remember things that you have done with them without the help of your social networking site?
After recent privacy controversies, I would think that Facebook would lay off trying to publish even more of our personal information but I guess not. Overall, I just don't get it. Facebook is great, but I don't really feel that it is necessary to use it as a virtual walk down memory lane. Call me crazy, but I would much rather use my brain as a way to remember things.
